The magnum opus of our Salon de Refusés: the Zone pitch.
Pitching is something both revered and reviled by the millions in creative industries. While it's usually the most exhilarating experience; the most fruitful for those intrepid and stalwart ideas; pitching can also feel like a creative war. Often you pull out all your best stops - as Stephen Price of Stash Magazine writes, "it's when freedom collides with passion and the best work is born." And yet the reality is that someone, out of the many, gets the gig. And where do all those other unrealized ideas go?
This pitch was a rebrand for YTV’s long-standing kid’s programming called the Zone. The ideas were exhilarating to bring to life, and while they didn’t make it to television, we definitely don’t want them vaulted. And so we’ve endowed them this space to keep on dancing.
Hopefully they jolt your imagination with intrigue the way they do ours. With slick top-tiered production values and tactile, intricately lit elements, we tried to tackle a bold balance of the tastefully zany. Enjoy! And major shout-outs to the always-amazing CypherAudio for the wickedly madcap sound design.
